Ambulance

Today was very important to my daughter. My mom and I took the girls to Sam's Club and while we were there a woman passed out on the floor in the main aisle. My daughter wants to be a doctor more than anything else in the world and is absolutely fascinated with Ambulances. So, a couple minutes after we saw this woman laying on the floor a police officer showed up and my daughter asked me if an ambulance was coming. I told her one was on the way. A minute later the paramedics walked in with the stretcher and everything (we have a toy ambulance that includes a very realistic stretcher). We had to watch everything. They placed the woman on the stretcher and started to walk her out to the ambulance. We walked out and watched them place the woman in the ambulance and close the doors. Then I started walking to the car. Instead of coming with my daughter made my mom stay on the curb in case the ambulance decided to drive away. She really wanted to see that happen. We left and she got a little mad and said she wanted to follow the ambulance. I told her we couldn't. We got home and the first thing she did was run in the door and scream up to grandpa that she saw an ambulance. It was HUGE for her! She was thrilled. She said in the car "I want to work in an ambulance and take people to the hospital." It was great! We went to a friend's house for a little playdate and she was really excited to run in the other girl's room to tell her about her experience.

That is so cute! I have a picture of myself and my cousin as little girls back in the '70's playing dress up wearing white outfits and little white nurse caps with red crosses on them. Maybe, since your girl is so fascinated with the medical field, maybe she'll be one of those lucky people who REALLY know what they want to do when they grow up. That's such a blessing.

She decided she wanted to be

She decided she wanted to be a doctor about 6 months ago and hasn't changed her mind. She recently became fascinated with Ambulances. She has a real stethoscope and Otoscope and loves to play doctor. She has a Vet coat that she puts on and buttons up all by herself (to me that is pretty impressive). She will take her doctor tools and put them in the pockets of the coat. She is totally adorable when she does all this stuff. For a while she was saying she wanted to be a pet doctor because the pet store we go to has a pet hospital in it. She became fascinated with hospitals when she had to go in and have an IV in January because I was afraid she was getting dehydrated. The she had to go in and have an enema because she hadn't had her Miralax in a few days. So, now she wants to be a paramedic after seeing the woman at Sam's Club loaded up and taken away. She was really impressed with that.

You know EMTs do not require

You know EMTs do not require as extensive education as nurses, so maybe this is a possible career path for your daughter. Encourage her and keep it going :)
