This is our current front page. Note please what it does NOT say. It doesn't say "please spam us with hair straightening products and clothing knock offs from taiwan". It does NOT say "Please advertise your latest products". It does NOT say "Please tell autistics and their parents that they aren't experienceing autism because their experience isn't exactly like yours". It does NOT say "Please give us a generalized cure for all autistics while ignoring the fact that autism is influenced by a large number of causes". It does NOT say "we're here to prevent brain damage or autism".
It does say, let's have YOUR experiences, so that we can share and compare, and support each other through this journey, in hopes something you went through might help me.
So please, let's keep it a little more civil of a discussion? Truthfulness is in. Political correctness and other forms of lying are worthless to the discussion.

I'm sorry, seebert, if my responses seem to have gotten a little prickly lately. I'll try to get back to more civil discussion as you suggest. I'll be offline for awhile now anyway (probably most of January).

This was my mea culpa as well, both of us got sucked into a battle with somebody for whom English was obviously a 2nd language, and the type of arrogant autistic researcher we all hate, the one who utterly denies that the actual experience of autistics has anything to do with autism.

I don't actually believe that he or she is any sort of researcher. For one thing, what person who is being paid $400 an hour (as this person alleges) spends hours at a noisy charity Christmas event in order to obtain 1 present for their child? A troll is a troll is a troll.

I can assure you conduct here has been seen by more people then you would ever want. And just because you deleted my comments and your uncivilized comments about typically developing people doesn't mean they still don't exist. They do. And they will follow you forever.

I'm not going to sink to your level and restart the debate here. At all. Doesn't matter who it was seen by- you specifically requested that I delete the post as spam and I complied, and this isn't the worst I've posted online, or has been posted online about me, by any means.
Autism is not now, and has never been, fatal.

I kind of wish you had left it... it all sort of spoke for itself, I thought, and "removed all doubt." (ref. Mark Twain or was it Lincoln?). Anyway, I'm sure you get my drift.
You are doing a great job here under difficult circumstances I'm sure. Hopefully Todd will fix some of the issues soon. I was a really great support website for a lot of years, but the spammers and trolls have really pushed their way in here in recent months.

Todd has only given me partial rights- for instance, I can't remove posters who spam repeatedly, I can't remove their comments- but I can remove entire blog postings that go south. That means I can delete today's ghd hair straightner posts, but the user still exists and they'll just repost tomorrow.

I figured that must have been the case since, if he had given you full rights, you probably would have figured out a way to block at least the ghd and moncler spam ads by now. Like zaremom said a couple of weeks ago, I also hate to quit this blog after being here such a long time... but I regret that it may be necessary to just leave the spammers and trolls have it. I would like to say that meeting people like you and John H. here helped me get through a deep and dark depression... and it has changed my perspectives about autism and life in general a great deal (for the better).
