The dog and Wyatt peacefully co-exist. I wouldn't say they have a relationship.

Similar to your assessment
Similar to your assessment of Wyatt's relationship with your dog, I think also our old dog put in the greatest amount of the work into her relationship with my son. He was always somewhat indifferent to the dog's presence and did not go out of his way to play with the dog - but the dog was always there at his side nonetheless.
Our new dog (because she is more highly strung, I think) won't be ignored and absolutely demands attention from him. She will shove her nose relentlessly under his hands and arms when he is sitting down until he pets her. She generally requires a lot of our attention and does the same thing to my husband and I when our son is not around.
Marcel and Elsie are all
Marcel and Elsie are all over each other lol. He pets pulls and pinches &
she keeps comin back for more. Yesterday he had vanilla frosting on him
from these cookies he loves and obsesses over, she stood there and
licked him & licked & licked as if to say "Oh Marcel you taste so good."
He was giggling. Yesterday he had two showers & one "dog bath."
That's soooo cute. When
That's soooo cute. When Wyatt was really little, Marc's uncle's dogs did that to Wyatt and he laughed and laughed. Now he's a bit afraid of dogs. Not our dog, but other dogs. He tries to hide behind adults, and if he can't do that then he'll turn his back to the dog and hunch his shoulders.
