This is for maybe some parents who are NEW to Austism. My daughter Jameliah is 9yrs old and was diagnosed when she was 2. I've found that though she may not do and say the things that my other two daughter's do it's very encouraging to focus on the things that she can do. I've noticed that over the years she learns something new every year that she did not know the previous year and I look back on that for strength. She is a happy and beautiful girl who enjoys life and I'm not saying that things are always easy but I have a very great family that helps alot. I think that's the key to dealing with children who have Austism.

I couldnt have said it
I couldnt have said it better myself =)
You certainly have your
You certainly have your focus in the right place! You can tell by Jameliahs smile that she is happy. My granddaughter, Trinity, will be 9 in October.
I find something to celebrate almost every day. We take so much for granted with our children. This isn't the case with special needs. Every time they use a new word, or ask a question, or do anything out of the ordinary for them.....It is cause for celebration.
Family is indeed a key component. I thank God for mine every day.
