My name is Joan Nash and I have worked as a school psychologist for over twenty years. During that time I have worked with a number of children on the autism spectrum in the area of communication and social skills. I especially like to use a card game called Let's Talk that motivates children to have real interactive conversations. Children learn to stay on topic, take turns talking, ask appropriate questions and make appropriate statements. It encourages children to have fun with other children and adults while it guides them through successful conversations. I have recently made this game available to parents and teachers and it can be found at www.childrensucceed.com. With practice it really works. With the structure the game provides children can have real conversations on a variety of topics.
I also have a series of card games that help children to recognize and mimic emotions and facial expressions. I am currently producing some additional games that focus on improving communication and social skills. These games have worked so well for me and the children in my care that I want to share them with parents and other professionals. If you have any questions about the games please visit www.childrensucceed.com and send an email. I will personally answer any questions you might have.
