I have started making Michael nap again... Only he is sleeping for several hours. He is still going to bed like an angel. Normally a parent would rejoice in this, but he is getting up before 7 in the morning and coming out to watch TV.
Waking up to the TV blaring some Disney show is not a pleasant way to wake up... So I usually have to make sure I change the cable back to Disney so he has something in the morning to watch. And I need to make sure I leave a cup of something to drink out for him. Like me, Michael is not into eating first thing in the morning, so I can usually lay there in bed for a little bit longer.
But just one morning I want Michael to sleep in rather than waking up early to run to his best friend, the TV.

I hear you on this nap
I hear you on this nap thing. Naps are like borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. Sometimes it can be so blissful to have a child sleep for an hour so you can have some peace and quiet. But then it seems like the kid stays up an extra two hours to make up for it (or gets up at the crack of dawn, in Michael's case--that is so sweet that he's still going to bed like an angel, you must have a good bedtime routine set up--I'm going to make a post about that). Even if a kid doesn't normally nap, they sometimes nod off on the bus or on a car ride, so naps are unavoidable.
We try to keep Wyatt up as long as possible in hopes that he will sleep through the night, with or without melatonin. This also causes him to sleep in at morning time. Normally, I would be pretty happy about this, but he's had some therapy scheduled at 8 a.m. this summer, so 50% of the time, we've had to wake him up. Thankfully, after Friday, the sessions are going to be scheduled a little later.
Tell me about it lol. We all
Tell me about it lol. We all get up at six thirty to get daddy off to work. Both Marcel
& I have sleeping disorders so on a good night Im up only two times but normally
about five times. Here lately he's been sleeping pretty much through the night.
My husband could sleep in the middle of a war zone ugh lol. So then daddy goes
to work and sometimes Marcel will go back to bed after a little play & something in
his tummy, then the dog will nap and I cant go back to sleep because I've got housework
to do or just because of anxiety. Sleep is a major issue in our home.
