Searching for Stories and Artists on the Autism Spectrum

Greetings - I'm new to the AB site and fairly new to the words "autism spectrum disorder."  My five year old son, Ben, was dx last month with HFA.  It's been quite a month, let me tell you.  And here we are:  Autism Awareness month.  I'm the sole paid employee with ReEnchant Planet Earth (www.reenchantplanetearth.com).   For those of you who are interested in learning more, read on.  ReEnchant is a movement founded on the idea that the time has come to shift the way we are living our lives.  At ReEnchant we feel that it is time to co-create, re-birth, re-focus, and rebuild our planet with an emphasis on the beauty and magic that is already in every day life.  We believe that by creating connections, we can make a difference in our communities and in the world. As a way to keep connected, we publish a newsletter called Thee Talking Stick which is sent out electronically every month.  It focuses on stories about personal experiences, overcoming fears or obstacles, or stories about advances socially, politically, economically, and emotionally.  I'm a take the bull by the horns kind of gal.  So, my new mission at home and work is to get the word out about autism.    If anyone would like to contribute written, audio taped or video stories to our newsletter, we'd be honored to feature them. Finally, ReEnchant Planet Earth also supports an online shopping cart for individuals who create hand-made and/or environmentally friendly art.   If you know of an artist on the autism spectrum or those who support efforts in this direction, please let me know.  This is great way to raise awareness and support! Thanks and peace,Chris/Outdoorgal
